Job Summary:

Claims Engineer is a position that analyzes the technical aspects of incoming claims. This position entails offering technical assistance to the claims coordinators in order to resolve incoming warranty issues.

Duties & Responsibilities:
•Analyze warranty issues that are presented by customers to determine the root cause of failure.
•Carry out all customer service issues such as responding to inquiries, and handling complaints in a prompt, courteous and effective manner.
•Prepare technical reports describing product characteristics and specifications including conclusions of failure which are submitted to our supplier if manufacturer defects are present.
•Follow-up and provide updates on claims to ensure customer satisfaction.
•Research the technical aspects of machine operation, including but not limited to choice of materials, interaction, wear characteristics, etc. to effectively analyze supplier samples.
•Use lab measuring equipment to qualify physical, mechanical and chemical characteristics of products, while ensuring that the measuring equipment used is calibrated.
•Read and understand technical drawings.
•Place orders of sample parts from inventory to compare claims from customer.
•Communicate with purchasing agents when confronted with issues or discrepancies of part being bought.
•When discrepancies are found regarding part failure due to claims or change of supplier, inform the proper personnel to make appropriate changes to our inventory in Miami and Dallas.
•Ensure materials in our stock do not present same non-conformance; if so, ensure material is quarantined.
•Performing other clerical duties as required, including, but not limited to, filing, data processing, typing, etc…

•As part of the job, the position also requires that you have the ability to react productively to changes and handle other tasks as assigned.

•Mechanical aptitude with a minimum 5 years of experience regarding basic mechanics (diesel experience preferred)
•Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
•Strong customer service background.
•Strong reasoning ability.
•Solid interpersonal verbal and written communication skills required (English & Spanish).

•Microsoft office.
