Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist assists the Director of HR in the management of the HR Department while ensuring organizational compliance with applicable HR related regulations and statutes as well as organizational procedures and policies. The Human Resource Generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all the following functional areas: benefits management, payroll functions, recruitment, and special projects.  The HR Generalist Coordinates and helps develop an employee-oriented organization culture that emphasizes continuous improvement, team- work, high performance, and quality.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists the HR Director in special projects such as employee manual revision, creation of new policies and procedures and creation of employee training programs.
  2. Assists the HR Director with employee relations including taking minutes in investigatory meetings, coordinating meetings, writing investigatory report, etc.
  3. Process payroll in a timely manner.
  4. Recruit, interview, and retain top quality employees.
  5. Ensure that every aspect of human resources incorporate the vision, values, and culture of the organization.
  6. Provides benefits administration services, including reconciliation of invoices, working with Accounts Payable, and assisting employees with any claim issues.
  7. Ensures that worker’s compensation cases are processed correctly internally and with the TPA as well as follow up and return to work compliance.
  8. Ensures that FMLA, Unemployment and other leave programs are managed correctly, efficiently and legally.
  9. Assists the HR Director with managing the HR Coordinators.
  10. Other duties as asked by the HR Director.

 

 

Knowledge and Skills

  1. Excellent knowledge of US employment laws and practices.
  2. Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.

 

  1. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and PowerPoint.
  2. Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively disseminate information to all levels within the Company.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  4. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  5. Excellent organizational skills.

 

Education, Experience and Languages:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field
  2. 3 to 5 years of HR Generalist Experience
  3. English – Spanish a must

 

 

Physical Requirements:

This position requires, sitting talking, and using his/her hands, eyes, and/or ears (80%), walking (20%). Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
