Job Summary

The Imports Assistant will be required to assist the Accounting department in all functions related to Imports. This position is required to train alongside the Imports Specialists and collaborate to complete any and all required clerical functions as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Enter Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes for each part into proprietary software
  • Verify that codes currently in system are correct
  • Check spending from China office and balance costs in QuickBooks
  • Prepare and maintain paperwork associated with shipments of goods
  • Liaise with the Purchasing team as required
  • Review and update information in the computer system to maintain accuracy
  • Create reports as requested
  • Answer phones as needed

Knowledge & Skills

  • Basic clerical skills (filing, answering e-mails, data entry)
  • Attention to detail
  • Basic math
  • Fully bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
