TECHTIP
When taking an engine apart, if you are planning to re-use the camshaft and Tappets/Lifters, you must keep the Lifters in the same order as they were removed. Lifters are mated to their specific cam lobes and cannot be interchanged. If the used lifters get mixed up, you must discard them, install a new set of lifters, and break-in the cam in again. You can use new Lifters on a good used cam, but never re-use used lifters on a new cam.
