Job Summary

The Accounting Clerk is required to assist in all the administrative tasks assigned via the Accounting department. Accounting Clerk must have the ability to work unsupervised while still completing all tasks assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Enters international ‘receiving’ invoices in transit, amount, and date into AS400 System daily.
  • Reviews all PO’s to ensure that quantities and prices are matched against receiving documentation to ensure accuracy.
  • Correct and balance discrepancies against PO’s.
  • Creates ‘receiving’ invoices to turn into Accounts Payable Specialist for coding.
  • Scans all ‘receiving’ documents in appropriate ‘receiving’ batch number.
  • Create and maintain excel log and reports on individual receiving shipments (scanned documents).
  • Back-up to Imports Specialist (i.e. Tracks shipments and freight charges).
  • Assist in certain Accounts Payable functions, i.e. entering invoices, coding, and payments for specific assigned accounts, upon approval of Director.
  • Assist Director with end of the month bank reconciliations, upon request.
  • Performing other clerical duties as required, including, but not limited to, filing, data processing, typing, etc…
  • As part of the job, the position also requires that you have the ability to react productively to changes and handle other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Knowledge of basic accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • General office skills (filing, data entry, telephone, e-mails)

Physical Requirements

This position requires, sitting talking, and using his/her hands, eyes, and/or ears (90%), walking (10%).

Must be able to lift up to 50lbs
